Sponsor us...This project is built on the words "Challenge and Charity" and underpins what we are intending to do. CHALLENGE The venture is a personal challenge for the riders in that we are taking on this adventure with the minimum of back-up and the maximum of planning. The journey will be gruelling and challenging, both physically and mentally. The bikes will be put through their paces over pot-holed roads and miles of dirt tracks. The weather, language barriers, navigation and on-road problem solving will all contribute to the challenges on this amazing journey. Although we are personally purchasing the motorcycles, we are seeking sponsorship to support the logistical side of organising and paying for such an undertaking. Sponsorship can be in the form of services, equipment or cash a will go a long way to supporting this event and thus the charity. CHARITY As a result of taking this challenge we are hoping to raise a substantial sum to support our chosen charity....Capability Scotland. Capability Scotland is one of the leading Scottish disability organisations and has nearly 60 years experience of providing services to disabled people of all ages in Scotland. The organisation was launched in 1946 by a group of committed parents and professionals. The first service, Westerlea School for children with cerebral palsy, opened in December that year. From their original purpose of supporting people with cerebral palsy, they have developed to support children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities. Today they are one of Scotland's leading disability organisations providing a diverse range of services including community living, day and residential services, employment, respite/short breaks, therapy, education and learning, family support and activities. The team have been fortunate enough to have visited Westerlea and witness first hand the wonderful work being carried out there.
